The Enid American Legion Majors got their seventeenth straight win last night beating the Oklahoma City RufNeks 5-4 in eleven innings.  Tobin Mateychick got the winning RBI on a single to center in the 11th to score Dylan Nave.  Majors’ manager Bill Mayberry talked about the win.  The two teams play tonight at 8 p.m.  A Majors’ win and they capture the district championship; if they lose, the final game is Saturday at the DA.

Both Legion AAA teams are competing in the AAA State Tournament.  The Enid AAA team beat Edmond Santa Fe 5-0 to advance in the winner’s bracket.  The Area AAA team beat Edmond Memorial 4-1 to advance in the winners bracket.  The two teams play each other tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Edmond Memorial.

The OSSAA has released Average Daily Membership (ADM) numbers for state high schools.  Enid is 21st in the state (1,544 students) and in Class 6A which is the top 32 schools in enrollment.  Broken Arrow and Tulsa Union both average over 4,000 students.  All the information is on the OSSAA website.

The City Junior Golf Tournament will be played August 4-5 at Pheasant Run Golf Club and Meadowlake Golf Course.

OU and Texas tied for the pick to win the Big 12 South by the media.  OSU was third followed by Texas Tech, Baylor and Texas A&M.

Former Oklahoma Sooner players Duke Robinson and Nic Harris have signed NFL contracts.  Robinson signed with the Carolina Panthers and Harris with the Buffalo Bills.

Enid’s Stacy Prammanasudh shot a first round 74 in the Ladies European Tour Evian Masters.

A group of investors unveiled plans for an expansion WNBA team in Tulsa.  WNBA president Donna Orender gave the group a September 1 deadline to firm up plans for the 2010 season.  Tulsa, with a population of about 385,000 people, would be the smallest city in the WNBA.

MAYB basketball tournament this weekend.  The tournament has 36 teams and will be played at three different sites in Enid.

The Oklahoma City RedHawks beat New Orleans 7-6 to improve to 50-47 on the season.  The RedHawks open a four games series with Nashville tonight at the Brick.  The RedHawks Report will follow.
